Vetrun 180 Case Study - Face to Face Mental Health First Aid Training
Trustee, Vetrun 180
To train adventure therapy expedition Team Leaders as Mental Health First Aiders to support military veterans
What challenges were you facing prior to engaging the Eleos Team?
As veterans themselves, our Team Leaders are stepping up to lead our expeditions and support the veterans that take part in them. It is only right that we look to equip them with the knowledge and skills that they will need to remain adaptable and are able to respond to provide support in some of the remote places that we travel to.
What was your experience of the Eleos Mental Health Training?
An amazing set of instructors and their own personal experience adds to what they teach and put across. The environment is everything and taking that into consideration is everything. Trying to make the group at ease whilst learning is such a complex subject. Great course!
Both instructors were able to share life experiences with the group which made the course very real. Very professionally run...thank you!
What have been the benefits and impacts of the Eleos Training?
A very good course, which has expanded my knowledge of mental health and will allow me to help people experiencing problems with mental health.
What organisational benefits do you anticipate developing now?
I certainly think our Team Leaders’ confidence has grown as they develop these skills further. They will be really relevant in the scenarios that they will find themselves in supporting veterans on our expeditions.
